The Verdun Memorial presents a discovery trail devoted to the battles fought on the left bank of the Meuse between 1916 and 1918, from the battle of Verdun to the Meuse-Argonne offensive.

This study day will start with an introductory visit to the Verdun Memorial focusing on the battles that took place on the western side of the river.

Participants will then be taken by coach on a route from the battlefield of Verdun to the American cemetery at Romagne-sous-Montfaucon. Firstly, the battles of Mort-Homme and hill 304, in 1916-1917, will be described on site. After the lunch break, visitors will discover the various stages in the advance of the US army between 26 September and 14 October 1918 as part of the Meuse-Argonne offensive, with evocations of the conditions at Malancourt, Montfaucon, Nantillois and Cunel. The day will end with a presentation by the ABMC of the Romagne-sous-Montfaucon cemetery and its interpretation centre.
