Patrons and supporters

We are grateful to our patrons and supporters, without whose backing it would be impossible for us to maintain our current collections, run temporary exhibitions, organise cultural and educational activities or regularly acquire new objects for the collections and books for the documentation centre.

Become a patron

The Memorial’s collections are formed primarily of donations. During the 1960s, we were able to collect a large volume of documents, objects and materials thanks to the support of not only public institutions but also private individuals, many of whom were veterans. For example, it is thanks to the former aviator Jean Salis, and his son, that the museum possesses a Nieuport aircraft and a model of a Fokker. Another way in which patrons assist us is by financing the restoration of items from the collection. The Marius Berliet Automobile Foundation covered the full cost of restoring a Berliet CBA truck from its own collection and then entrusted it to Verdun Memorial.
