Prepare your visit to the battlefield
The Memorial Cafeteria offers light meals and snacks (sandwiches, pizzas, paninis, salads, pastries, ice creams and more). It operates on every day that the Memorial is open, from 10am until 5.30pm in high season and 10am to 4.30pm in low season. For groups of more than 20 people, please book in advance. Drinks are available from the shop at each of the forts.
At the Memorial, you will find a large book and souvenir shop offering a wide choice of specialist and literary works about the Great War for all ages, as well as board games, DVDs and other items. A range of books and other articles is also offered at the forts, so that you can carry on exploring even after you leave.
Here are a few tips to help you get the most out of your visit to our sites.
The right to speak inside the Memorial and the forts is regulated. Only curators, teachers in front of their pupils, interpreter-guides and lecturers holding a professional card are authorised to do so, with proof. Any person wishing to speak who does not belong to one of the categories listed above must submit a reasoned request for authorisation to speak. A fee may be charged for this right to speak.
